Annie Leibovitz, "Pilgrimage"

In Praise of Annie Leibovitz: Pilgrimage

I received a book so beautiful for  Christmas it literally brought tears to my eyes (Literally – and I’m using that word correctly!  I was made fun of and everything).  Annie Leibovitz’s “Pilgrimage” is stunning, from cover to gorgeous cover.  Instead of arresting familiar faces in unfamiliar ways, Leibovitz turns to the places behind those faces.  “Pilgrimage” is a look at the walls, knick-knacks, dining room tables, lawn ornaments, and weather vanes that pile up to shape us into who we are.  From Elvis to Ansel Adams, “Pilgrimage” is indeed a journey worth taking.
